Our Parish

The group who worked to establish Holy Apostles Mission is made up of individuals covering a wide spectrum, reflecting the universality of the Holy Church. Some of us are cradle Orthodox while others came to the Church in various times of life and by various paths. Some of us were born in the United States while others are immigrants. The one thing we all have in common is our Orthodox Christian faith and a deep desire to fulfill what the Lord Jesus Christ established as the Church's essential mission - To go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and to teach them to observe all the things Christ commanded us to observe.

Our group has come to know each other through pan-Orthodox worship, events, and festivals. By spending time together, we have come to agree that there is much work to do to ensure that the truthful message of Orthodox Christianity reaches the unaware. If one looks into the local Tulsa phone book one can find dozens of Baptist churches, Roman Catholic churches and other "denominations", but few Orthodox parishes.

After years of prayer and discussion toward the goal of expanding Holy Orthodoxy in our community, and especially of reaching out to the baptised Orthodox not participating in the life of the Church, we have through the blessing of Archbishop Dmitri of Dallas and the South established Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Mission. We truly believe the Holy Orthodox Church, with its ancient Holy Tradition guiding the true way on the path of salvation, is exactly what is needed during these last days.

Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!
